Tranmere Rovers hit the back of the net by diverting 100% of their waste from landfill with fellow Wirral-based shirt sponsor and recycling led B&M Waste Services.
Working with businesses across Wirral and Liverpool, B&M Waste Services offer recycling-led waste collection services and are this month delighted to say a big ‘congratulations’ to Tranmere Rovers.
David Curtis, Director at B&M Waste Services said “It’s a great working partnership we have with Tranmere Rovers, who’s commitment to sustainability and reducing their environmental impact is highly commendable. It’s testament not only to them but our own team including our drivers and David Carter, who account manages Tranmere on behalf of B&M Waste.”
Across the Prenton Park site, training ground and the Riverhill Hotel separate containers and collections have been introduced for glass, food, paper and card and general waste recycling, none of which is sent to landfill. It is instead recycled or processed as refuse derived fuel where energy is recovered at a combined heat and power station. This is both better for the environment and the club’s green credentials, as well as being in line with the Club’s sustainability agenda. Additional responsive services are arranged as and when required depending on additional events, match days and higher footfall for certain dates increasing waste collection requirements.
Carl Kruger, the Operations Manager from Tranmere Rovers commented “Our front of shirt sponsors, B&M Waste are highly responsive and have always fulfilled both our regular service and additional requirements when we’ve hosted larger events such as the concerts in 2017. Whatever we throw at them they deliver and it’s a pleasure to reciprocate work by using local companies to fulfil our waste management needs”
B&M Waste Services iconic yellow waste collection vehicles can be seen across the Wirral region, as well as their logo being on the front of the Tranmere Football shirt.
