B&M Waste Services were last night presented with the ‘Sustainable Development Award’ at the prestigious NHS Excellence in Supply Awards held at the Village Urban Resort in Blackpool.
B&M’s work across many hospitals and healthcare organisations has been recognised and in particular Aintree University Hospital NHS Trust, who were guests of B&M were delighted. Mike Morgan, Facilities Manager for Aintree Hospital said “Working in partnership with B&M Waste Services we have implemented successful innovations as well as comprehensive staff training to increase recycling and reduce disposal costs of clinical and offensive waste. We’ve also seen recycling levels soar to over 80%, with all non-clinical or offensive hospital waste 100% diverted from landfill. We’re very proud of the staff at the hospital and B&M Waste for being so helpful in ensuring successful implementation of the latest waste technology to reduce our costs and decrease our environmental impact. Congratulations to the B&M team”
Terry Milner, Sales Director at B&M Waste Services said “We’re very proud of our achievements and grateful for the recognition this award presents. I would like to also congratulate all our NHS customers who have had the foresight to want to improve their total waste management. Budgets across the NHS are tight, and as public sector organisations the pressure is also on to ensure impact on the environment is minimised. We are always happy to take on new challenges and look forward to assisting more healthcare organisations to implement cost-effective and environmentally efficient solutions tailored to individual customer requirements”
