Carbon neutral, family-run B&M Waste Services in Leeds will be heading to the Raising the Bar Awards at Leeds Civic Hall tomorrow evening as finalists in not one – but three – of the four awards categories that recognise the hard work put in to improving the local area and community.
In conjunction with West & North Yorkshire Chamber, the Raising the Bar Awards are one of the highlights of the region’s business calendar and celebrate the achievements businesses have made in the key areas of Community, Economy, Education and Environment.
B&M Waste have been shortlisted for the Community, Education and Environment awards. This is due to their commitment to supporting local charity, Children’s Heart Surgery Fund – for whom they’ve raised over £10,000 in the last year, their educational partnership with local schools through their ‘Little Litter Pickers’ initiative and their recycling-led, Carbon Neutral waste management offering, reducing their carbon footprint and achieving zero waste to landfill.
Amber Greenhalgh, Director for B&M Waste said; “It’s fantastic to be recognised for the work that we’re doing in the local area. We’re so proud of the sincere efforts of our staff to support Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, the educational initiatives that form part of our core values and, of course, our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint – and that of our customers. Congratulations to all the shortlisted businesses!”
