B&M Waste provide regular waste and hazardous waste collections for Markem-Imaje, to improve recycling levels within the company segregation is key. Initially B&M conducted a site audit to assess waste streams and how segregation and recycling could be improved. As a producer of a variety of metals B&M introduced several segregation bins for the different metals, these include Stainless Steel and aluminium. In addition to these B&M also recycle empty aerosols and ex solvent containers as these have to be processed differently from other waste streams. WEEE waste such as computer monitors, televisions and fridges must be segregated and stored correctly due to the chemicals that they may contain. B&M visit Markem-Imaje around once a month to collect this waste and recycle it accordingly.
