B&M Waste and University of Chester make a positive impact on the environment

Carbon Neutral B&M Waste Services are this year going one step further to offset their customer’s carbon emissions. This month University of Chester’s Warrington campus have planted 39 trees, which B&M Waste provided, around their sports pitch.

15 Bird Cherry, 12 Hornbeam and 12 Lime Trees were planted, by Justin Moston, Grounds and Gardens co-ordinator at University of Chester, assisted by Eddy Geeleher, Director at B&M Waste Services.

Through B&M Waste’s stringent Carbon Management plan the company continues to minimise its environmental impact through the use of green fleet with Euro 6 engines, plug-in hybrid cars and zero waste to landfill policy. Having been accredited as Carbon Neutral for the sixth year running the company offsets the small carbon impact it does have supporting landfill gas reclamation projects in developing countries such as Turkey and also planting trees across the UK.
