Daniel Recreates B&M Facility

When we gave Daniel Kinsella the chance to spend the morning at the B&M Waste Services headquarters in Bromborough, his visit sparked a creative idea that would blossom at home in the following days.

Daniel Kinsella, from Wallasey, was diagnosed with leukaemia weeks before his fifth birthday in December 2012. Now in remission at age six, Daniel is fast becoming an expert in everything from bin trucks to recycling.

Daniel spent the morning having a tour of the B&M Waste Services recycling plant at Bromborough, accompanied by his parents Michelle and Michael. He watched what happens when the waste reaches the site, investigated the B&M Secure Shredding facility and spoke to many B&M drivers and operatives with enthusiasm about their jobs. The highlight for was sitting in an FEL (Front End Loader) truck while it was in action emptying a bin.

After his visit, Daniel and his father Michael decided to recreate the B&M facility at home using scraps of wood and cardboard boxes. Containing a conveyer belt, bales of waste (wrapped in cling film) and even a workshop for the trucks, Daniel now has his own recycling plant to play with at home!

Michelle said “Daniel is incredibly vivid with his imagination and creativity when it comes to all things waste and had so much fun recreating the B&M site at home. Our thanks again to everyone who helped Daniel at B&M, I’m sure he’ll be wanting a job when he’s old enough!”
