Claire House Cup a very wet success!

This year’s Claire House Cup in memory of Elliot Wild saw a bit of a wash out start of Saturday, turn into another successful weekend of football and fun. With hundreds of children taking part in the event, the two day tournament looks smashed previous year’s fundraising totals, raising over £26,000 for Claire House!

Proud sponsors of the event, and long-term supporters of Wirral Children’s Hospice Claire House, B&M Waste Services provided funds to allow the event to take place, as well as a large waste truck for the kids to see, and volunteers to assist in the running of the day.

Emma Howlett, who works at B&M and volunteered on the day said “It’s great to see so many people turn out in support of the event. The standard of football was very high too. Congratulations to all those who took part and made it a great weekend.”

Emma and friend Joan assisted on the cake stall saying “We pretty much sold out, but ensured we held some cakes back so all the children taking part had one to refill after a hard couple of days of football. Lewis and Billy were car park attendants, much needed given the number of people in attendance!”

Director at B&M Waste, Graham Curtis said “As always it’s been a successful event and hitting the £26,000 mark is a truly outstanding achievement. A big thank you to Jackie and Claire House for organising, and to our wonderful team of volunteers who gave up their weekend to help out. Claire House is an amazing charity, and we truly are proud to do whatever we can in support of them”
