A team from B&M Waste Services have raised over £2,600 for Claire House by taking on the Tough Mudder challenge.
B&M Waste Services, which have offices in Wirral, Manchester and Norwich, pledged to raise £10,000 for Claire House this year. Joining Team Claire House further affirmed B&M’s commitment to the charity, who provide respite and end of life care for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions.
In the months leading up to Tough Mudder, members of the team undertook training challenges including Total Warrior to help them to prepare for the 12 mile course. In spite of obstacles including Arctic Enema (a skip full of ice with underwater obstructions) and Electroshock Therapy, the team completed the sold-out course in 4 hours.
A further boost to the fundraising efforts came when B&M pledged to match any donations made through the JustGiving page. This doubled the grand total raised to £2,684, with donations to the page still coming in.
Graham Curtis, director of B&M Waste Services, commented, “It’s certainly a tough challenge but we all had a fantastic day.
“The last obstacle we had to face was a field full of live wires – I was knocked flat out for a few seconds! We would like to thank everybody who donated to Claire House; it’s such a fantastic cause and the support we received was invaluable.”
Bobby Potter, Regional Sales Manager, was also part of the team: “We are very proud to have taken on the Tough Mudder challenge as part of the Claire House team.”
All the staff at B&M Waste Services are very proud of the team’s achievement. As long-time supporters of Claire House, our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility is unwavering.
