Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity is B&M Waste’s nominated charity for 2017

Birmingham Children’s Hospital CharityCarbon Neutral waste management company, B&M Waste Services have pledged their support for Birmingham Childrens Hospital Charity, which goes above and beyond supporting young children and their families using the 356 bed hospital in the heart of Birmingham.

As well as a team of eleven B&M staff taking a tour of the hospital this month, the waste collection company have pledged to offer a free waste collection service for the charity’s ‘Fun Family 5’ event, held in association with The Big Sleuth, and taking place in Sutton Park on Saturday 29th July. This is a sponsored 5km walk, suitable for all ages, that will include lots of family-friendly attractions. They have also pledged to volunteer to entertain children waiting in outpatients and A&E departments through assisting at the art tables, called ‘Art Kart’, which helps reduce the stress children and their families feel when waiting in these areas for long periods of time.

Neil Curtis, Managing Director at B&M Waste Services said “We were blown away by the support the charity gives to the families using the hospital and are proud to support in every way we can. In addition to our financial support, and free bins for the charity’s event, we’re going to raise awareness of Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity’s campaigns on the side of our vehicles, which will be a moving billboard across Birmingham and help raise the profile of fundraising activities.

“We encourage other Birmingham businesses to get involved and support fundraising initiatives for this very worthwhile cause.”

Natalia Solanki, Corporate Partnerships Associate at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: We are very excited about working with the team at B&M Waste Services in Birmingham and are delighted to have been chosen as their local charity. B&M Waste Services is supporting our charity in new ways and we look forward to this innovative partnership. On behalf of Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity we would like to thank B&M Waste Services for helping us raise the vital funds needed to make a real difference to all the children treated at our hospital.”
