Leyland Golf Club is an 18 hole parkland course, 6298 yards long, par 70. It possesses a large practice area available to members and visitors, with practice bunker, chipping facilities and a 9 hole putting green. The course is professionally landscaped and has many distinctive features, including several water hazards. It is close to Preston and within easy access of the M6 and M61 motorways.
The club was looking to boost their green credentials whilst also significantly improving their waste strategy. As both a local and Carbon Neutral waste services provider, B&M Waste was the obvious choice when it came to supporting the club.
B&M Waste Services has supported the prestigious Leyland Golf Club in diverting a staggering 100% of their waste from landfill when, previously, all waste was disposed of in this way.
As well as achieving zero waste to landfill, B&M Waste will also be supporting Leyland Golf Club in the coming summer months as demand grows and the club gets busier. This will be achieved through an increased collection frequency and – critical to both environmental improvements and cost efficiency – food segregation, which will reduce the weight of bins through anaerobic digestion of food waste.
“Smooth transition and great service”
Mark McGarry, Commercial Director
“Leyland Golf Club has been a fantastic example of what can be achieved when a company is committed to improving their waste strategy. To go from 100% to zero to landfill is staggering. We’re really looking forward to continuing with further improvements over the summer and beyond.”
Josh Cairns, Account Manager, B&M Waste
